Regency Park, Wartling Road Eastbourne plan
This coastal development consists of five blocks of two and three bedroom apartments and a Community Centre. It was designed for Pinewood Structures Ltd. of Gamlingay on behalf of George Wimpey South East.

Eastbourne Borough Council agreed the sale of Wartling Road Coach and Lorry Park to George Wimpey and it will bring over £13million worth of benefits to the town.

The project will provide valuable resources that will be invested in capital projects to enhance facilities throughout Eastbourne including leisure and recreational provisions. Eastbourne council said “The Council is delighted to be able to bring this underused and prominent site to development. It will bring significant benefits to the area, as well as improve one of the main approach roads that tourists use to access our seafront.”

Clague architects of Canterbury produced the airy stylish design with light-weight cladding façade, improving a redundant brown field site in Eastbourne. Layouts make good use of the pleasant sea views.

The 6 storey nature of these units required structural design to satisfy requirements of both an exposed location and disproportionate collapse requirements within the Building Regulations. This was easily achieved using Finnforest Kerto-S engineered wood ring beams with ‘I’ beam joist floor cassettes suspended between. Speedy construction was maintained using this method.
